Program description:

If you have decided to quit, or have tried to quit in the past without success, the Topeka Pulmonary smoking cessation program can help. In the past few years, clinical research has produced PROVEN NEW MEDICATIONS to help you conquer your addiction to nicotine. These medications, individually and in combination offer NEW HOPE to our smoking patients. In fact, some medications can be started while you continue to smoke. The Topeka Pulmonary Smoking Cessation Program gives each patient an INDIVIDUALIZED assessment of their nicotine addiction, including a biochemical measurement of the nicotine in their body. They also receive a medical exam and an evaluation of their lungs. This information helps our healthcare practitioners and smoking cessation counselors design the most specific treatment plan, tailored to your needs.

At Topeka Pulmonary, we feel that there are no failures, only smokers who have not yet succeeded. We may not be able to reverse the damage from years of cigarette use, but we can slow the decline and optimize overall lung function. The Topeka Pulmonary Smoking Cessation Program includes a pulmonary Consultation, lung Function testing, pulmonary sputum cytology, chest X-ray, individualized assessment of nicotine dependence, medication treatment plans, intensive follow-up and and support.
